I actually let my mom tie my ponytails today!

Vinnie, Rupa, Divya(12) Kapil (10) visited us last night. It was good to see them after what seemed like ages!

Sahil visited us during his california trip.

During the summer vacation, Dada took Arjun to a Lego fair. It was a good suprise for Arjun.

Uncle phil got back from Japan. went to his mom's house for a barbeque. lots of old white people.

bargain hunter that I am-found this rocking horse for $5-very happy until we tried assembling it-arjun and neil got frustrated trying -that's when we called dada-he came he tried and tried again and finally managed. Then he took it out for a test drive!

Asilomar is a little beach community near Monterey. We stayed at the conference grounds designed and built by Julia Morgan (hearst castle). It is a beautiful place right off the beach but we found out it was not the right place for us -in many ways. No fridge in the room for Anjali's milk, walls with no insulation (neil had to drive her around at 3am so that we would not disturb our neighbours with Anjali crying). We needed a vacation after our vacation! we drove into Carmel on our way back and happened to catch a car show. The weather was perfect the beach was really nice and kid friendly. All in all it was a good little compensation for the stress we had endured in the past 2 days.

we have been teething-almost all teeth in except 4-hope it's over soon. We are also trying to wean off the bottle and onto the sippy cup-it's not working! Anjali looks at the sippy cup and cries and shakes her head "NO" . Arjun loved his sippy cup-it was his "baba".

Anjali really hates going to bed-we have been taking her to the park everyday -to tire her out. It's working both ways. We are all tired!

Anjali had a little friend over-Kayla. She was very in her face at first but gradually learnt to play side by side. It was fun watching them.

Arjun was introduced to 007 James Bond (movies) this summer. We started with the new and went backwards in time and the movies got more and more bizarre. There was some fast forwarding and "that only happens in movies" but all in all most James bond movies are perfect for a 7 year old boy. He loved the gadgets and cars and is making some new James bond LEGO creations.

Shamim's cousin Aftab got married to an american girl. Shamim, zeenat and fly were all here (in california) for the event. Neil and i were invited for some of the festivites. Neela aunty was nice enough to watch both Arjun and anjali while we went for the winery wedding.
